Spearman's was packed today for Paul Maher's 'Two Short Plays' and musical interlude from Cashel Community School students. The actors amused the crowd and the atmosphere was great. If you didn't manage to see the plays today, they will be performed on Saturday at 12.15pm in The Heritage Centre and 1.15pm Upstairs at Feehan's.
Luckily the rain held off and a large number of people came down to The Plaza for drumming workshops and the Fire Show. David Day got everyone involved in the drumming circle and it was amazing how good it sounded. The Fire Show was mesmerizing. The children got very involved in the story of the performance and all in all the evening went very well. Irish TV (Sky 191) were there to film and the report will be shown on Saturday 22nd November at 7.30pm.
Tomorrow looks busy with adult workshops in rushwork, ceramics, felting and paper star making. Paul Maher's Two Short Plays will be on in The Heritage Centre and Upstairs at Feehan's. The Create Café (upstairs at Tesco Shopping Centre) is holding drop in workshops from 12pm until 4pm for all in fabric painting to make a large community quilt. This will go on show in The Library after the festival. We're really looking forward to tomorrow night's concert, Jimmy MacCarthy, at 8pm.
