Working her way up from gruelling bootcamp training to leading a drug interdiction operation seizing €700 million of cocaine from a yacht off the Kerry coast\, she was a leader among men and rose to every challenge. Developing a love of the sea\, Marie learned that to be at one with it required agility\, and a willingness to change\, to go with the wind – not against it. Book Online at Brú Ború website. \nCashel Arts Festival is proud to host a very special performance by Pat Marnane\, as he launches his new album Music\, Memories\, My Piano and Me. \nA familiar figure behind the scenes at the festival for many years through his work in sound production\, Pat steps into the spotlight this year to share a deeply personal collection of songs—his first full album of original material. \nWith a musical journey spanning over four decades across Ireland and the United States\, Pat brings a lifetime of experience to the stage. His new songs are built on storytelling and rich melodies\, reflecting on the roads travelled\, the people met\, and the memories that have stayed with him. \nThe album features heartfelt pieces such as “Another Road”\, a song about finding your way back to what you love\, and “This Road I Ride”\, inspired by years of touring across America. At its emotional core is “For Sheila”\, a moving tribute to his late mother\, celebrating a shared life filled with music and fond memories. \nThis launch performance is a particularly meaningful one\, taking place close to home and within a festival that has long been part of Pat’s musical life. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of this year’s Cashel Arts Festival\, 2026. Our Chairperson Gillian will welcome you to what promises to be a wonderful weekend of arts and creativity. \nWe are delighted to be joined by former Irish Navy Captain and leadership speaker Marie Gleeson\, who will give a short address to open the festival. \nThe evening will also feature a very special performance by Padraig Jack\, who will perform the song he was commissioned to write especially for Cashel Arts Festival. We will also enjoy a mesmerising walkabout performance throughout the evening by Calvos contact jugglers. \nWe are also delighted to have a special performance by Pat Marnane in the Brú Ború Theatre as he launches his new album Music\, Memories\, My Piano and Me. Directed by Paige Dashner Long\, this exceptional ensemble of 95 highly trained flautists performs across an extraordinary seven octaves\, from piccolo to rare contra flutes\, creating a truly immersive musical experience. \nThe programme celebrates both the heartbeat of Ireland and the artistry of contemporary composers\, featuring works by Stanford\, Giacchino\, Long\, Cohen and more.
