Helen Comerford and Na Cailleacha-talk by Catherine Marshall

As an extension of the exhibition Helen Comerford; The Artist and her Legacy, Catherine Marshall, curator of the exhibition will present a projection of Na Cailleacha; The School of Hibernia (after Raphael) 2024. This internationally recognised artwork – a photograph of a re-enactment of an important Italian Renaissance fresco- with a living, all-female cast in place of Raphael’s male dominated one is the last artwork that Helen Comerford was involved in. On that occasion she got great pleasure and stimulation from meeting some 40
women thought leaders from different educational disciplines in Ireland, including Mary Robinson alongside musicians, writers, social activists and sports figures, set in the historic Museum Building, Trinity College.
