LUXE: Solar Return – A Seasonal Celebration of Light & Fire in Cashel

Join us for Solar Return, a spectacular celebration of the changing seasons, as Ireland’s leading landscape theatre company, LUXE, joins with Cashel Arts Festival to bring this magical event to life. As the Autumn Equinox draws near, we mark our journey around the sun with an evening filled with fire, light, and movement.

This unforgettable procession begins at 8:20pm from The Plaza on Cashel Main Street, winding its way around the iconic Rock of Cashel in a dazzling display of lanterns and turning wheels. The event culminates in a breathtaking finale as fiery horses circle beneath the stars in the stunning setting of Hoare Abbey Field.

With over 17 years of experience creating trailblazing outdoor spectacles across Ireland and beyond, LUXE brings a vibrant mix of international performers, musicians, and artists to illuminate the night. Their work transforms public spaces into places of wonder, often in collaboration with local communities.

• Time: Starting at 8:20pm (duration approx. 1 hour)
• Starting Point: The Plaza, Cashel Main Street
• Route: Approx. 1200m
• Admission: Free and open to all
• Lantern Bearers: If you are carrying a lantern, please gather in the grounds of St. John the Baptist Cathedral from 8:00 pm

• Some traffic restrictions and temporary road closures will be in place — thank you for your understanding.
• The Cashel Arts Festival Lantern Parade uses battery-powered lights only.
• All children must be with an adult while partaking in the parade.
