Introduction / Réamhrá
Welcome to Cashel Arts Festival 2015 – a week packed with a wide choice of arts events in the scenic surroundings of Cashel. Our festival theme for this year is Light and Shade and we hope to bring you bright new experiences through the arts in the darkest month, November.
We are delighted to be running our very own Festival Choir again this year, but with a new dimension: a Youth Choir. Our Finale Concert is not to be missed with performances by the Festival Choirs and also the wonderful Songbirds. With music chosen to reflect light and shade, it will certainly be a very atmospheric and uplifting evening.
Involving the community in a wide variety of arts is key to our festival, so this year we offer you storytelling with Eddie Lenihan, fantastic Horrible Histories Tours, The Tallest Smallest Circus, script-writer Peter McKenna, author Paul Lynch, a pop-up artists’ studio, a talk on Yeats to mark the 150th anniversary of his birth, a highly entertaining show A Game Called Lucy Finally Wins, workshops in hip hop, circus skills, creative writing, lace making, RoboSlam, bone turning, wood turning as well as a rich selection of drop-in workshops and demonstrations. Many of our events are free or extremely affordable thanks to our sponsors and supporters who continue to make the festival possible.
Enjoy browsing our programme and we look forward to seeing you during the festival!
