Absent Friend – book reading with the music of Leonard Cohen

Absent Friend is a reading with music, based around John MacKenna’s memoir of the same name. It’s a memoir which records MacKenna’s thirty year friendship with Leonard Cohen.
The memoir draws on the correspondence and meetings between the Canadian songwriter and the Irish Novelist and in this hour-long presentation for stage.

MacKenna is accompanied by Katie Jacques (vocals/guitar/ukulele) and Angela Keogh (cello/concertina) on a trip through Leonard’s songs and MacKenna’s stories and memories of the friendship.
